The extra-large living room in this 1890's Craftsman Bungalow style home is the perfect place to entertain. The client only had two requests: use the existing rug and update the style. We started with a new color scheme that would blend nicely with some of the existing colors in the room and added contemporary furnishings.
High impact was created with a large marble mid-century cocktail table paired with a contemporary sofa and copper colored lumbar pillows. A Jonathan Adler table sits next to a modernized version of a wingback chair.
The library adjacent the living room also serves as a cozy entertaining space. The original wood paneling worked well with the black, white, and yellow color scheme. To create a more inviting space, we added some contemporary but casual furniture.
Black and white artwork lines the wood paneled walls. A Kelly Wearstler fabric was selected by the client for the window coverings that inspired the overall theme for the other fabrics and furniture used.
A Danila Rumold drawing sits above one of the library bookshelves.
